Sounds like you are having a great time. Thank you for doing the blog and photos so we can enjoy your adventure too. Let me know if you need any more pictures for presentations as I have some on my Tabblo.com account. Remember where I have the flower albums? You would only need to copy them.
About the signs.
I've seen signs for small towns in Europe. When you come to the town, the name is on the sign. When you leave town, the there's a red line through the town's name. (BEX! used a picture of the leaving town sign for the last page of her photo album of her year with Rotary).
So, I think it might be that there is a "Children Playing" zone.
